Weaving
I had the opportunity to borrow a loom from someone. I had wanted to learn to weave for a long time so this was a good opportunity.
the person from whom I could borrow the loom set it up for me. I tried different things and used different materials.
later I wanted to use more color. I wanted to weave a longer piece with the same pattern. I threaded the wires myself. I gave the warp different colors. For the weft I used one same color. the threading took me a whole day's time. The first time I found it so complicated.
The end result was nice, but not very tight. I had used wool from which some warps broke off later. another wool had different thicknesses and piled up in the loom, this one I had to replace. I also made a few mistakes when threading, these were visible in the fabric.
I decided to rethread the loom one more time. This time I only used white thread for the warp. I knew this wire was strong enough. I used different colors for the weft. threading was faster this time. I had a more convenient approach and now knew how to do it.
Now that the threading was a little easier, I wanted to give myself an extra challenge. I didn't want to do the usual up and down pattern again, but I chose a slanted pattern. this is best reflected in the white wire.
